My services

School consultation (preschool - 5th grade)

My three children attend private schools, and we went through the admission process after touring many schools in the area, particularly the peninsular area. It can certainly feel overwhelming when you are new to the process with various options to choose from. I would be delighted to help guide you through the process and look for the best fit for your child and your family.

Parent Coach

While I am not a clinical counselor, I am highly empathetic and adopt a non-judgemental approach when talking to parents. I would love to have an opportunity to speak to you about any parenting topics. Please note that as of now, I am only specialized in babies - 5th-grade children.

Social-emotional training

Research shows that social-emotional learning not only improves achievement by an average of 11 percentile points, but it also increases prosocial behaviors (such as kindness, sharing, and empathy), improves student attitudes toward school, and reduces depression and stress among students (Durlak et al., 2011)

I advocate the importance of SEL by teaching families how to communicate with their children, reframing the mindset, and setting reasonable parenting goals. A key Office of National Statistics study found that one in ten children now suffer from mental health problems, including stress, anxiety, and depression. Academic worries are the most significant cause. Therefore, SEL is crucial in raising both physically and mentally happy and healthy kids.

Pro Bono Coaching

Janice offers pro bono coaching to schools that serve under-represented groups to talk about social-emotional learning and help implement a fully integrated SEL program. Janice also provides free coaching to three clients each quarter for those with financial difficulty. Connect for more information.
